The Casino

Sweet Jeebus! I just got a call from the casino, for a job type thingie. I'm super excited. Finally, that whole 'Naive American" thing kicking in for me.
Most people think it's all glitz and free cheese, but no. That's not always the case. Anyway..

I remember when I worked for them, when I was the tender age of 19. Good times.
I got to see a lady catch on fire (she was quickly extinguished), a man have road rage and bash the crap out of some old lady's crown vic (to be fair, she had him blocked in), someone was thrown out and banned for life for jacking off (maybe G49 was his g-spot) and they 'bingoed' him right out the door.

That's where I met most of the cops I knew/know. We all started work there, and most of the law enforcement majors would hit me up for free food from the concession area that I worked at.

I liked that part of it. I remember playing 'let's make a deal' with them. One time, my friend Zamudio, who I affectionately named "Za-jew-dio", mostly due to his frugality, huge schnoz and tendency to hustle me for drinks (cokes), came back to the concession, slapped fifty cents on the counter. He looked at me, asked "What'll that get me?" My exact memory of what I said is a little shady, but it was probably something along the lines of that would get him "spanked in the teefs."

We bartered a little, and as usual, he talked me into making him breakfast, even though it was six in the p.m.
After awhile, my bartering skills got around, and I had a goodly following of police customers. They'd usually come by around closing time (I was supposed to close the grill down at 11), and I'd cook for them, even though it was late. Back then, not many places stayed open past 9. I guess there was something in the Bible about thou shalt have no fast food joints past nine in the p.m., and they stuck to that shit. For awhile, anyway.

I remember a lot of times, it'd be eleven-ish, and there'd be a knock on the concession door, and there would be Zajewdio, with a fellow brother of the law. He led them to me like Moses led the Jews out of Egypt.

I remember those good times, and I hope this whole casino thing works out for me. Good times, good times...

I'm not a gambling person...but there's something exotic about casinos.

The first time I went to OK (two summers ago)we went to a casino to see a big country singer (can't remember who now...tells you how much I care). Last summer we went to the same one on the 4th of July for the fireworks.

I didn't gamble at all...but I was facinated by it all.

Good luck!

congrats on the gig! as long as it wasn't you that set the woman on fire, sounds like you'll be able to build a following who will support you, bartering skills are like a secret currency, use 'em if you got 'em.
